A HUGE Success!

My Climb Against the Odds fundraising event Friday Night Right was just that.  And what an honor to be surrounded by family, friends & more enthusiastic support than I ever expected.  The Local Grocer & Be Well Studios was the perfect venue, embodying my whole purpose & representing my incredible community.  I feel like everyone who came out to support me was sending me off to Mount Shasta & filling me up with all the energy & consciousness the east has to offer.  Here's a recap from one of the best events I have ever had the pleasure to be a part of...

The amazingly wonderful welcoming committee!  Greeted with a handcrafted organic custom lip balm from Mothering Herbs my friends welcomed my guests & helped them find the unique & fun elements this event had to offer.

Up in the studio guests found chair massage, reiki & energy work, foot massages & more in the zen atmosphere created by Be Well Studios.  Mini reservations were made by the fabulous vendors that generously donated their time & craft so that guests could enjoy the party downstairs too.

For those of you who indulged in the mini spa & holistic health services and want more...here's how you'll find these wonderful services again:

Amy Shackford, LMT
Kneaded Relief

Rita Corbitt, LMT
The Youth & Child Center for Wellness

Meanwhile, downstairs in this gorgeous venue, Shelburne Addition graciously charmed us with their acoustic vibes.  Their music filled the event space with endless smiles.

And the food & beverages were delicious!  So many generous donations were provided by these small, local businesses for this important cause.

Big Love Mexican Diner provided excellent empanadas all the way from Sandwich, NH.  LOVE!

Flatbread Company delivered delicious pizza.  Everyone enjoyed their natural pizza baked in a primitive wood fired oven just down the road.

The Sandwich Creamery pitched in some cheese and Udi's provided some to go granola & cereal bars as well as muffin samples.

The gracious hosts at The Local Grocer not only donated the space & coordinated food but also contributed some of their tastiest selections from their cafe & deli.

Moat Mountain Smokehouse & Brewery hooked up the beer drinkers in the crowd with delicious samples.  Some folks slipped next door to the brewery during the event and after for more.  What a fantastic neighbor!

Wine was divine on this night thanks to The Local Grocer's wine vendors .  They provided a fabulous selection & helped guests get to know their products a little more intimately.

The Local Grocer and Ashera Fine Baking provided delightful desserts  with gluten-free goodness.  This table was visited by everyone more than once!

The silent auction was overflowing with amazing, high-quality, hand crafted items from so many generous businesses & artists.  I was completely overwhelmed by how it evolved.  Everyone was so engaged with the excitement of bidding & character of the items.  I was overjoyed!  This was clearly due to the altruistic intentions of my friend Erin Lane, who volunteered to coordinate the auction.  Thank you Erin!

Special thanks to all of the auction donors who didn't hesitate to contribute their work as a way to leverage my fundraising efforts.  Congratulations to everyone who took something home from the incredible selection of items!

For those of you interested in the items you didn't win in the auction, here's how to find their work:

And here's a link to the event's Facebook page where you can see photos of just about all the auction items to jog your memory: Friday Night Right

My family came all the way from Massachusetts, southern New Hampshire & the coast of Maine for my event!  Having my mom & sisters with me on this night made it extra special.  And for those of you who made a similar trek to support me, I can't thank you enough for your effort in supporting me too!  Local friends came from the Lakes Region, Mount Washington Valley & the North Country of NH.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!  I could not have raised $3000 in one night without you!  I am well on my way towards my $10,000 fundraising goal.

WAIT...there's more!

Remember this gorgeous bowl from the auction?  Want another chance to bid on one?

All proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Fund and my Climb Against the Odds!  Here is a little about the bowl that was auctioned at the event:

It is believed that trees teach us lessons and offer themselves as gifts. It is also believed that each species of wood hold different types of energies. The three woods I have chosen for this bowl’s structure are Mahogany, Maple, Purple Heart.

Mahogany is very spiritually focused on fertility and growth. It has a very powerful bond with the earth and will channel Earth energy very well. Mahogany has also been known to enhance intuition and strengthening bonds in blood relatives (especially the mother/son relationship). It is also excellent for exploring and clarifying goals.

Maple is somewhat rebellious and tough. It holds the qualities of creation, communication, binding, revolution, rebirth, healing, beauty, art and abundance. Maple is full of imagination and originality. Maple is a travelers wood. Those who are always on the move and changing will feel right at home with this type of energy. It enhances intellectual pursuits and learning.

Purple Heart is a spiritual wood. It enhances energy dealing with creativity and knowledge. This is one of the best woods when dealing with spiritual healing and health issues. Purple Heart would be especially useful in eradicating the negative energies that create strife in the home.

The finish I have used on the bowl is a food safe finish. The bowl is not dishwasher friendly and should be hand washed and dried. If the finish dulls over time a butcher’s wax can be applied as well.
